Rita has a wide and varied practice which includes advising stakeholders (such as banks, private equity, funds and pension trustees) on general issues with respect to stressed/distressed entities, advising directors, administrators/liquidators and also purchasers of distressed businesses as well as investors in distressed businesses.

Profile of Helena Donohoe

Managing Partner of Donohoe & Co


Helena Donohoe is the founder and managing partner of Donohoe & Co.

Helena specialises in all aspects of private family law, particularly cases with an international element. She has dealt with cases involving competing jurisdictions across the world, including Monaco, Thailand, Cyprus, Spain, France, UAE, USA, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

She obtained her law degree from the London School of Economics and passed the Legal Practice Course with Distinction. She trained with a “City” firm and worked for a wide range of practices before setting up her own boutique family law firm in March 2010.

She is admitted as a solicitor in Ireland in addition to practicing in England and Wales. She is particularly adept at advising in cases with complex company and trust structures, often located in various offshore jurisdictions, and prides herself on giving sound commercial advice in a family setting, with a compassionate approach.

She is an active member of Resolution, a nationwide professional network of specialist family lawyers. She is a member of the International Bar Association. She is a trained collaborative lawyer and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals.

In her spare time Helena tries her best to grow fruit and vegetables in her London garden and likes to escape to her native Ireland as often as work permits.
