Good afternoon,

I have loved seeing your travel photographs over the last few years.  So I am delighted to be running the 5th International Lawyers’ Photography Awards.  I believe our competition is the first global photography competition for lawyers !! The theme again this year is travel.

The above photo was taken by Daniel McDonnell, senior legal counsel at Intesa Sanpaoio in London.  He was announced as the winner of our previous competition at a reception held in the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London.  The professional photographer who judged our competition described the winning photo in the following terms:

“A very nice composition indeed with the branches framing the top and nice highlights and shadows in background. The square crop works well and the red boat, perfectly placed, draw the eye around the scene perfectly. Well done.”

Daniel’s prize was a 2 night stay in the luxury boutique hotel, Vivenda Miranda perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean in the Algarve, Portugal.
