Patrick has kindly agreed to tell us about his personal career journey and share his experience working for one of the largest sports teams in the world – Manchester United.
Patrick Stewart: Manchester United General Counsel
PATRICK STEWART is the Director of Legal & Business Affairs at Manchester United.
Patrick started out in private practice as an IP/IT lawyer and worked with two of Scotland’s leading commercial firms.
In 2001 he moved to Switzerland to take up the position as legal counsel with TEAM Marketing, a leading sports marketing agency with close ties to UEFA. In that role he was responsible for negotiating a broad range of media and sponsorship contracts for the UEFA Champions League.
Patrick joined Manchester United in 2006 to head-up the newly created Legal & Business Affairs Department. His responsibilities include negotiating key sponsorship and image rights deals and overseeing the handling of the club’s legal and brand protection issues.
