CFO x GC Fireside chat at The Lawyers’ BD Club

Good evening,

I’m excited about our * CFO x GC * event taking place in Dublin on Thursday, 30 November 2023. It will be hosted at the offices of McCann FitzGerald LLP – a leading corporate law firm in Ireland.

We will have two superb guest speakers – an influential Chief Financial Officer and an influential General Counsel. Our Chief Financial Officer guest speaker will be Carol Phelan, CFO of the Dalata Hotel Group. Our General Counsel guest speaker will be Maureen Daly, General Counsel of the Irish Life Group.

Theme: Career Journey & Lessons Learned

We will have a 25 minute fireside chat with each guest speaker (Carol and Maureen) about their career journey and lessons learned.

Carol Phelan, Chief Financial Officer of Dalata Hotel Group

Carol joined Dalata in November 2014 and was promoted to CFO in July 2021.

She has extensive experience in corporate finance, strategy development, financial reporting and controls from previous senior roles in Ion Equity and KPMG.

She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and holds a First Class Honours Master of Accounting.

Maureen Daly, General Counsel of the Irish Life Group

Maureen Daly is General Counsel with the Irish Life Group.

Maureen graduated from the University of Limerick with a degree in Law and European Studies in 2002 and qualified as a solicitor with the Law Society of Ireland in 2005. 

Maureen’s legal career began in 2003 with the Irish corporate firm, William Fry.

Maureen joined Irish Life in 2015 where her original focus was on providing the legal support for the Irish group’s mergers and acquisitions activities.

Maureen was appointed General Counsel in 2020.
