Lawyers’ Photography Competition
Tuesday 7 June 2016
Good morning from New York
I hope you are enjoying the start of summer wherever you are reading this.
I know there are quite a few of you who are keen amateur photographers so I thought it would be fun if we had a LBDC | Lawyers’ Photography Competition. The theme is summer.
We are are looking for a stunning photograph from your summer holidays. This is a wide category which you can interpret any way you want.
I’ll share one or two of my own recent photographs with you (I’m no budding photographer!). I know you can do much better than me.
Photo from my early morning stroll this a.m.
The two photos below were taken last November in New York.
Two photos below were taken in San Francisco in January. By the way, if you have never been to Sausalito; check it out on your next trip to San Francisco. It’s a beautiful little place with fabulous views of San Fran.
It will be great to see your photographs.
First prize will be dinner for two at Richard Corrigan’s fabulous restaurant – Bentley’s Oyster Bar and Grill.
There will also be prizes for our two runners-up.
If you are not based in London and you end up winning one of our prizes, you will have the perfect excuse to come visit us in London and claim your prize!
Go grab your smart-phone or fancy camera and send us your photographs.
Our competition is open to all lawyers (including trainee lawyers). You can be based anywhere in the world.
To enter, all you need do is:
- Email me your photograph – colin [at] lawyersbdc.com
- Tell us where your photograph was taken
- Tell us that you took the photo (and that it not your friends!)
Our closing date will be 30 August 2016.
We will ask some professional photographers to decide on the winning entries.
The winner and runner-ups will be announced on Friday 9 September 2016

If we get in some good photos over the next few weeks, I will share some of your entries here on the LBDC website.
I look forward to seeing your photographs and hearing about your summer holidays.
Have a great weekend.
